What is In Lak’ech?

“In Lak’ech” is an ancient Mayan phrase - I am another you, as you are another me. It’s the philosophy the game is built on.

The game itself is a deck of 56 hand-illustrated conversation cards. Each card has an original illustration and a question designed to take you somewhere real - with a partner, a close friend, a stranger, or yourself. No rules, no score, no pressure to perform.

What makes it different from other conversation card games?

A few things. Every illustration is hand-drawn original artwork - not AI generated, not stock. The questions are designed to go somewhere real, not just warm up a room. And the whole thing is rooted in a philosophy - the Mayan idea that the distance between people is mostly imagined.

It’s not a party game. It’s not a team-building exercise. It’s a deck of questions for people who want to actually know each other.

Who is it for?

Couples, friends, families, new acquaintances, old ones. Anyone who’s ever sat across from someone and wanted to know what they were actually thinking.

It works from two people upward - there’s no upper limit. Some of the best sessions happen with a group around a table.

A note on age: most of the deck is suitable for teenagers and up. A small number of cards include playful illustrations with hints of nudity or a cocktail - nothing graphic, but worth knowing if you’re playing with younger children. We recommend adult supervision for kids under 14.

How do you play?

You already know how to do this. Shuffle the deck. Draw a card. Answer honestly or pass without explanation. Let the conversation go wherever it wants.

Play one card or all fifty-six. Fifteen minutes or three hours. There are no rules, no winner, no wrong answers. The cards do the rest.

Can I use it as a solo journaling tool?

Yes. Draw a card, sit with the question, write. Some questions are worth spending time with alone before you share them with anyone else.

Where do you ship from and how much does it cost?

US orders ship from Colorado for $4.99, plus $1.99 for each additional deck. European orders ship from Bulgaria (EU) for €4.99, plus €1.99 for each additional deck.

Orders are filled within 1–2 business days and typically arrive within a week. All orders include tracking.

What if my order arrives damaged?

We’ll replace it, no questions asked. Contact us with your order number and a photo and we’ll sort it out.

Do you offer bulk or corporate orders?

Yes. For orders of 10 or more decks - team retreats, workshops, events, or corporate gifting - reach out directly for pricing and customisation options.
